How to connect to a Google Meet on iPad for online learning (Grade 1-3)
Attending school online during inclement weather or illness may require the use of Google Meet for virtual learning. This allows students to join classes remotely, participate in discussions, and engage with their teachers and classmates. Google Meet provides a platform for students to access educational content and maintain their learning progress even when unable to attend school in person.
Depending on how and where your teacher sent you the Google Meet information, the GMail Application or website may try to open.
If your student is in Grade 3 or below you will see a message saying that Mail features are not enabled for this account. This is intentional and inline with our school’s policies regarding Google accounts for students under a certain age.
You should instead open the google meet application to connect directly with the join code.
📘 To use Google Meet on an iPad for online learning, follow these steps:
Open the Google Meet app on your iPad. There are two versions available Google Meet and Google Meet (legacy). The icons looks like this:
Google Meet (legacy) | Google Meet |
Using either version of the app, your student MUST use their @students.aobajapan.jp google account to connect to the class google meet. Google accounts outside of the AOBA domain are not permitted to connect under normal circumstances.
To change the Google account in use, look for and tap the profile picture and select your students @students.aobajapan.jp account.
